  • I specialize in food, beverage, product and stop motion photography for businesses in the food and beverage industry.

I utilize my culinary background and 9 years of specializing in food and beverage photography to highlight your product, increase brand awareness and drive sales. People shop with their eyes, so when you have scroll-stopping, mouth-watering, eye-catching images - it makes a huge impact. Your return on investment for high-quality photographs is increased sales and customers.

  • Yes! I always start with an estimate.

Each client's requirements differ - from the number of images, editing, usage and complexity of the product. I tailor it to your photography needs. From our discovery call, I can gather the information needed to put together an estimate.

  • Yes! I have a great selection of props and surfaces that I have curated over time. Our estimate meeting is when I ask if these are needed. Based on your brand, the mood board and overall feel of the photoshoot determines what props and surfaces to use.

If I don’t have something in my collection, I try to source it. If I don't have a surface, I have the resources to make or source one. Sourcing props or surfaces can take time, especially in a smaller town.

  • Expect a two-week turnaround after the last photoshoot. Regardless, I always strive to deliver the images sooner. It comes down to the number of images and the post-processing required.

    1. Book a discovery call with me so we can discuss your specific photography needs.

    2. Approve the estimate, sign the photography contract and send the deposit.

    3. Next, we book the pre-production meeting to finalize the mood board, shot list and day of details and schedule the photoshoot(s).

    4. After the photoshoot, I go through the post-production phase of editing each image and uploading them to a private online gallery for you to view and download. Your photographs are ready approximately 14 business days after the photoshoot. Need them within three business days? A fast turnaround is available for a rush fee.

  • Yes, I do! I have commercial general liability coverage as well as general insurance. A Certificate of Insurance is available upon request.

  • No, all my images go through a selection process and post-processing. I retain full ownership of the images under the Copyright Act of Canada c. C-42 and the right to use them for promotional purposes, competition, professional review and so on. No images can be sold or sub-licensed to third-parties without written consent from Charné Baird.

Depending on your requirements, I can deliver the images in JPEG, PNG or TIFF format. They will be sized accordingly for website and social media use. Using the photographs outside your website and social media platforms will require additional usage and licence.

  • Indefinitely. I do not guarantee this after the final images are delivered. I store the final images in an online gallery for six months, after which I send out a reminder to download and back up the images. If you need the images once the gallery has gone offline, I can retrieve them for a $250 fee.

I utilize multiple hard drives and have multiple backups. Hard drives fail, so it is always best to back up your photos for an added layer of security.

  • I use professional Nikon gear and have backups. I primarily photograph with my Nikon Z6 ii and have a range of lenses.

My studio lighting is a mix of Nikon, Godox and Neewer equipment.

  • Basic post-production editing is included. All images include white balance, colour correction and cropping. It all comes down to what we are photographing and whether or not more advanced editing is required. Retouching is available for an additional fee.

  • No. Images not selected for editing are not backed up or archived and are not available.

When photographing on-location, I shoot tethered. This means you see all the images on the computer as I photograph them. Together we choose which images will be selected, right there and then.

  • Depending on how you plan to use the images, there are different options for usage and licensing. If you are looking to use the photos on your website and social media platforms to promote your product or business then we use the social media and website use licence. If you are looking for print and digital then we explore the print and digital commercial use licence. No images can be sold or sub-licensed to third-parties without written consent from myself, Charné Baird.

To name a few uses, but not limited to; a printed or digital ad, printed or digital newsletter, poster, mail-out flyer, website and social media, wholesaler websites and social media accounts, email marketing, etc. Let me know, and I will prepare a usage and licensing estimate.

A different way to think about usage and licencing is with streaming services like Spotify. You can listen to the music on the app but you can't download and use it in a Youtube video unless you pay for a commercial use licence. As artists, we own our work and grant users different rights based on the usage. It's all covered in the Copyright Act of Canada c. C-42. Please view the Copyright Act to learn more.

  • I realize many people aren't aware of the equipment costs, experience, continued learning, upgrades (nothing lasts forever), software subscriptions and other overhead expenses.

There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work and planning that goes into preparing for a photoshoot as well as many hours editing, backing up and communicating with clients.
